Am looking for drivers side header. Stock type. And a short block done.
Have a good high mileage motor in car running. But needs freshening up.
Don't have alot of money. But tons of parts most new from before I lost my job.

Thank you....Rob

Can you weld or fixed a cracked up one? I have a stock one in bad shape (been welded and rewelded again and then I boogered it up trying to grind off all the crappy welds) you can have if you pay for shipping? I can get you a picture of it tonight if interested.

RE: Awfully kind

Mike that was a kind thing to do to offer.
Tell what I'll do. I would take it. If it can be fixed.

I'll pay you or trade something of equal value.
Every once in a while, I get knocked off my seat.
This was one.
Would like to see it. I have a friend who is a great welder.
If he thinks he can do it. I'll keep my word....Thanks so much...Rob

Here's a picture. The rest of the header is in pretty decent shape considering it's been sitting in the corner of my garage for years now. I don't remember how I came to have this header. I guess I bought it as a spare years ago or something. Anyway, it's going to need some work obviously to make it usable. Who knows, if you friend is a good welder, this thing may turn out better than new after patching up the hole and cleaning up the 3-5 junction.

RE: Awfully kind

I really think it could be done. Are you sure.Well if you still want to do this.
I'm, looking at it and it looks repairable to me. It would help me out of a thight spot. As I haven't been working. And my friend is really good with a tourch. I really would appriciate it you are willing. Mine is shot at the point where the header meets the head. Which is why I can't fix mine. Also price of shipping. Shouldn't be terrible.

I'm going to see if I can have it sent to him.
Again thank you.....Rob

TIG welding is the only way to go here. You have to use stainless
wire, too. The patch has to be stainless matr'l., too.
The back side of the weld should be backed up with gas.
Do this and it will be as good as new. If you don't, it will
crack again, maybe before it cools off from welding it.

PM me your address. I'll ship it. If shipping is less than $10, I won't even bill ya for it.:) I'll send you a tracking number once I ship it.

All I ask is you take a picture (and post it) of the finished product if you get the work done. Then we can have a before and after photo.
