If you were building a cheap hot rod, lets say $5000 or less, what would you build? Here is the catch, it has to run 12.5 or better and be street legal.

Define hotrod for me? What body style ? Or is that up to me? It would probably have a very inexpensive 5.3 or 6.0 ls engine in it for starters and perhaps a turbo . A 12.5 or faster wouldn't be a issue with a light body and decent traction.

Recently sold my 47 Plymouth there. While it only had a 318/auto, it was on a early 70's A-body chassis and since it weighed nearly nothing it could've reasonably done 12's with a 360 and a good blast of NO2 if I'd wanted.
Fat Fenders and earlier are Great! Just please don't build another of those retarded looking rat trucks that look like some clapped out POS on a broken frame!

Well until I get the body finished I should have less than $5K in my 83 T and she should get below 12.5 in the quarter, so does that count?
