Question about VIN check

When I had someone check my VIN number for my 87 GN it just came up as a 87 Regal. Is this right?

Whats the VIN number? It probably does come as a regal, but the vin 7 (8th position of VIN) indicates turbo, and the option codes will determine GN. I hope the option list is still on the trunk lid.

The VIN is 1G4GJ1175HP465207, so it is a turbo. The car is at the body shop right now, but when I get it back I will have to look at the option list.
