I've got an exhaust housing for my turbo but It's an .82 and a little to big for my liking. I've got a .63 sitting in my garage but the wastegate puck is the same size as the ported hole in the housing and I'm worried its going to bind. Anyone ever install a larger puck on a THDP themselves? If so, how? and what did u use?

Thanks,

i have a similar problem . im looking at purchasing a .82 housing that had its wg hole ported out to 1 3/16 inches. Im not sure if my thdp will work with this. is there any way to put a sleeve in the wg hole?

btw what size is the thdp puck?

Jon,

I put a larger one on an old TH downpipe and on a couple of stock wastegate housings..it's been several years. A friend of a friend made us 3 or 4 larger pucks on the lathe. We ground the tip off of the existing puck, popped it off, inserted the new one, and peened the tip to hold it in place. I think on one of them we spot welded a washer to the tip. If I were going to make one now, I'd get a scrap exhaust valve and turn it to make the puck.
