i put in a new fuel filter and it started to leak from the rear side. not from the threads but from where the thread and line seal. i have a purlator filter on there but is this one of those parts that should be only the AC DELCO part? i finally got it stopped w/some thread sealer. the filter said its a low torque design so... any suggestions???

The AC Delco part is indeed recommended specifically in this instance. I used one and had no problems. Cheap insurance.

The threads do not seal the gas in a flared pipe application. They are there to pull the flare against the inlet side of the filter.

I would check the filter to make sure it is the right one for the application and is made correctly to accept the pipe flare. Also check the flared pipe to see if it's good.

Those filters work fine for me. Last about 15K on my cars.
