polihing aluminum

ok i started to polish some aluminum pieces i had laying around.
sanded them till they were pretty smooth, went to 600 grit wet paper.
i then hit it with some aluminum cleaner then polish, but it still doesnt have that mirror type finish i want.
and theres still light scratches visable.
any suggestions??

i didnt get to try it yet, but i bought the 3 bar system i will update you next month when i use them if you like

You might try going to 1000 grit then to 1500 and 2000, then try a little polish, 600 is not a smooth paper for aluminum, in my opinion, or get a good buffing kit and wheel. When wet sanding mix in a little dish washing detergent with the water, and have fun.
