Here are a few pictures of Michelle's engine.

All of the powdercoating was done by Ronnie Martin (rmar). I'm pleased with the way the powdercoating turned out.

Enjoy.

A few more

A few touch ups still need to be done, for example the new hard coolant lines need to be installed, but first I need to stop the leak at the fitting :mad:

You know if Ronnie keeps practicing at that powder coating one day he may get good enough to make a career of it. :D

Not going to happen...........:biggrin::biggrin:

Looks good John, hope your wife likes it. Keep me posted on the experimental headers...:eek: See how long they stay silver.

hello jlat; The engine was rebuilt after cracking a main cap and crank at the 2004 Norwalk Raceday. Here's what went into the very mild build:

- Steel main center caps
- Crank replaced with an early turbo crank
- 0.040 Pistons (which were already in it)
- TA-49 turbo
- 38#~ish injectors
- new sensors
- reman alternator
- new water pump
- stock valvetrain except for cam
- double roller timing chain
- cleaned up the short side radius on the stock iron heads

Not going to happen...........:biggrin::biggrin:

Thanks! TurboMichelle likes it very much. We'll keep an eye on the headers, so far so good, but the coals haven't been put to it yet.

what did you do to them?? Ceramic coated??
Also did you do the turbo's heat shield the same way as the headers?

BTW the engine, the car and the coating work all look great

The heat shield is ceramic coated on bottom and powdered coated on top to match the VC and intake, if I remember right.

The exhaust manifolds have a 2,000 deg ceramic coating on them with a bright silver ceramic top coat.( The theory there is the 2k base will keep the silver from turning or dulling)
