Painting rockford amps?

I already did it, but is it ok to paint rockford amps? I have two black and grind amps with a punch link. I painted them to look exactly like my hurst olds (stripes and all) I must say they look sweet. I used engine enamel cause it could withstand the heat.
I also painted all my other rockford components to look like the car (two caps, fuse block, dist block). I'll post some pics when i get them.
 
No, i put the end caps on and the link on, then from the under side taped the seems and masked off the bottom. All the connections/controls are fine. I didn't paint anything that would effect the functionality of the parts, like the brass terminals and such.

why wouldnt it be ok to paint an amp? rockford or whatever? most amps come painted from the factory, it's like a car, just do it right. As far as the engine enamel goes I really dont think it's needed, unless your amps are running way hot, which won't last long.
