I know this is an old thread but I am getting ready to paint my GN I had the door polished and a picture of the paint taken my color has white pearl and dark green in the color I actually painted the header panel and its a perfect match to the door I guess the dark green makes the black darker, I can't wait till it gets done.

The color on your car was "NOT INTENDED"
Its suppose to be code 19................... SOLID BLACK
Its a factory screw up, you have either overspray or the nozzles were contaminated with other metallic colors.

When I bought my 1986 new it had signs of metallic in it right off the truck. But it was (as Buick Mark says) not intended. The faux-pas was talked about among the Buick owners contingent back then (before popular Internet), and accepted as normal for GM production in the eighties.
