I'm new here, having just bought an 86 GN, so forgive me for asking this question you've probably read a thousand times before.

I notice on all the Buick literature, my car is rated at 235hp, 330lbs/tq. What have you guys discovered are the real numbers?

Thanks

it was rated that low due to the fact that the corvette wasn't supposed to be surpassed in horsepower numbers...but buick did it anyway and rated it 5 more hp than the vette...if buick would have rated the real numbers of the GN it would have embarrassed the vette...i believe the real crank hp numbers are around 275 horse and 375 torque...i mean how is it possible for a 235 hp car to run 13.9 in the 1/4 mile like car and driver tested?

Thanks! It's just like my Camaro which is rated at 305hp,.but dyno's at 325hp. and almost the same torque. GM because of Corvette image issues or insurance issues, didn't want to put the real numbers out.
