Does anyone know if the GM window seals on the hardtop cars comes with the metal track to hold the seal in place? If not, does anyone know a good trick to getting the old stuff out of the old tracks? Any help is greatly appreciated, as much as I love working on my car, this is weak. I could've had the motor swapped in less time than I've spent trying to get this crap out of one channel. Thanks in advance.

no on the retainer channel

3m weatherstrip remover , comes in a spray can works great

the 3m stuff works great and doesnt eat your hands and if needed to reuse the part it doesnt eat the paint or ruin the weatherstrip , just start spray at an edge and continue spraying down the bacside and peel away slowly as the glue melts away .
good for getting seals from the boneyards

Make sure your put a good bead of urethane sealer between the retainer and the roof. Leaks here are probally the number one reason why new weatherstrips leak. Get it as water tight as possible, any unpainted metal will start to rust here if water gets the chance to sit.
