have changed injectors
have switched injector harness around problem stays at one
tried 2 other coil pack ignition modules
change plugs
unplugged cam sensor with car running still no fire
changed plug wires
moved number 1 and 4 plug wires on coil pack
dont know what it could be.
working with Cal Hartline to try and figure out we are stumpped

Looks like you covered all the bases. Got to be missing something.

Are you certain it's #1 thats dead?

no 1

yes plug is wet and clean looking while rest are black and sooty. there is also no change when you unplug no 1 injector, from the running engine.
will having the esc module unplugged do this?

check the valve lash. and check the compression when the engine is running on that cylinder.Too tight of lash can cause this. hyd or solid cam?

Take a extra plug and plug it into the wire and lay it on the manifold and see if it sparks while cranking. And verify your wires are on right. Then take the plug out of the non firing cylinder and let the fuel evaporate cause if you have too much fuel in there it won't fire . And how old is the fuel?

Too much hyd preload will give you compression until the oil psi comes up, then the compression will go close to zero as the valves are being held open slightly, but the effect is more likely to be seen with the engine running, over cranking. Start it up with the compression gauge in, will show this instantly.

Fuel, Air and spark

Fuel is getting there you said from the wet plug

Air as mentioned valve train lash could cause the same symptoms. by not allow compression to happen properly.

Spark- Have you verified that you have a nice blue kernel of spark while crank and the plug grounded somewheres?
