Hey folks, This is my first thread on this board. Please be gentle.

I have recently found deep interest in turbo's and after searching around the TurboBuick board, you guy's know what is going on.
I'm building a TT318 for a 67'Dart, Streetable.

I have several General questions, Maybe you can enlighten me.

Seeing that a 3.8L is V6 with one Turbo, I Assume that the
exhaust off the manifold is unequal length. Does that have a exhaust balance problem? Is there a cross over? Does the 3.8L
run stock headers or cast iron manifold. Are headers efficent
with the back pressure of the turbo? Does the 3.8L have stainless exhaust valves? If not, are they needed for power increases. Does the 3.8L have aluminum heads? Is there an aftermarket for them? What's in the bottom end over a non-turbo
3.8L. How much power can it take over stock?

That's alot of ?'s for now. I appreciate your input

TT question

Mike,
you will probably get more answers if you post this in the General Buick Tech section OR the Turbo Lounge area. I can answer a few questions for you...
1) the heads are cast
2) they are stock headers
...that's all i can remember from your questions for now. i hope this helps.

Yes we have a cross over pipe from the drivers side to the pass side that connects to a up pipe to the turbo.

Does the 3.8L run stock headers or cast iron manifold.
both, 78 - 82 cast, 83 & up tube headers

Are headers efficent with the back pressure of the turbo?
Yes, but the cast seemed to spool faster.

Does the 3.8L have stainless exhaust valves? If not, are they needed for power increases.
Good ? I not know this one, a guess YES
Does the 3.8L have aluminum heads? Is there an aftermarket for them?
Cast stock, yes there is aftermarket alum.

What's in the bottom end over a non-turbo
3.8L. How much power can it take over stock?

Steel crank, The 86-87's can run up to 500 hp, but for me after 400 I would start to reinforce the block

That's alot of ?'s for now. I appreciate your input [/B]
