no start

wondering if it has to do with the factory alarm. I turn the ignition on....ok the dash lights are still on.....when I go to start the car all lights turn off and I can't start the car anymore. Its like the whole electrical system lost all power. So I turn the battery off then on again and power is restored and the car now starts. Only time this power loss and no start happens is when I press the button on my transmitter to unlock the car. If I open the doors with the key the car will start. Could the factory alarm cause the car to do that? What should I check first?

Well my friend, it sounds like you have a short in your alarm. I would start at the brain and follow the wiring, eighter that or find a differant method of alarming your TR

Sounds like the factory alarm to me.

I would think that the horns and lights would be going off too however.

Unless that got disabled.
