Hey guys, I'm new here and althought I don't have a GN, I have a very close cousin, a 88 Monte SS. The car has fresh paint, a built 357 small block, and a built 200-4r. The last part of the drivetrain that needs attention is the rear. Right now, I've got the stock 3.73 posi 7.5" and with the new motor, its easy to overpower the posi and have one tire go on for days....Not to mention I'd like to through some DOTs on it and run into the 12s and I just don't think this rear can do it.
Basically, the cheapest solution would be a 8.5 rear from a GN, 442, or turbo regal. But the GN and turbo rears had 3.42s and I'd prefer 3.73s or even 4.10s. I'd kinda like to put together a 30spline 8.5 w/ an eaton posi.
So does anyone know of a bare 8.5 GN/T Regal/etc housing (with bearing caps) I can buy, new or used? If you have any leads, let me know at montess355@yahoo.com
