NEW 17'' wheels and tires on my Turbo T

Well, I took one of my Trans Ams in to get new tires put on the new refinished snowflake rims and came home with another rim and tire combo for my Turbo T.

I was getting kind of bored with the stock wheels and Eagle GT's on my 20k mile Turbo T so I added a set that I think goes really well with the black out trim and chrome bumpers. I still have the stock wheels and tires tucked away.

I just thought I would share.

Hot Wheels 68s? I like those rims. Wish they had a little bit deeper lip. But a good choice for 17" wheels that won't break the bank.

Nice wheels

Looks great the chrome and black. No better bought wheel for the price. Like my 68's.

I like the "old school" look of the Hot Wheels. I have put the same size and set with different tires on a 1970 GTO I had in the summer. I also had a polished set on another 70 GTO and 77 TA.

I definitely contend that G-bodies are the hardest car out there to get the perfect wheel for. I think the best look would be a 17 inch stock style turbine but we're up the creek without a paddle on that one.

One company has the spec on a 17 inch Vector though, I watched them put a set on Kenny Wayne Shepherds modern styled General Lee.

Looks great, -1.5" in ride height and it'd be a traffic stopper. BTW, that car color is beautiful!!

The pin striping is a mx of two colors. Its not orange. More of a muted red like the in the turbo 6 logo. Just enough to highlight the body lines but not too much to give it that 70's look.

Weight? I do not know.

These are 17 x 9's all the way around.
245/45/17's in front with 275/40/17's in the rear. The overall rolling diameter is the same for the front to backs. The width is a little wider in the rear. Hense the 45 series vs. the 40 series in the back. I tried a few different combinations on this car before I found the one that works.

If I went to 18's, I would have to lower the car to make it look right. These 17's are the same height of the stock 15's.

Just wanted to change it up a bit. I can always go back to the stock look.
The car is a 20k mile bone stock car with the exception of a test tube in place of the cat conv. that I have as well.

I was thinking of throwing some go-fast mods on it, but I can not bring myself to do it to this one since it is so pure and untouched. So, I do not want to put on anything that I can not remove and take back to stock.

Thanks for looking!

On the GTO those rims look great, but on the T-type, they look like "Ghetto Cruiser" wheels.... but they're still nice, just my opinion

I put the Turbo T on eBay before. No offers that I wanted to take, so it will remain with me for a while. Here are a few more pics of my shop.

I just read an article on the Transams from 1978, in Hemmings, if you are interested. Should still be on the newstand. Nice cars.
