Hi folks, I just want to share with everyone a cool upgrade for our hotair cars. We all know that the stock negative cable is weak, and the GM replacements aren't much better. One day I was helping a friend on his 89 Olds Cutlass Cierra, and saw the negative cable looked to be the same length as the GN. Sure enough, we measured it and it's exact. The Cutlass cable is a nice, heavy 2 ga copper, with the same secondary ground lead.
I got one from the dealer, put it in and the motor ran better, and the lights were brighter. I have the part number for the cable in my files, so if anyone is interested, send me an email. Wholesale from GM was about 40.00. A nice upgrade, seeing how the factory cable for the GN is more like 4 ga and aluminum.
