the other day I was driving my Buick, A/C on, temperature outside was in 90's. The car was driving great. but i noticed the scanmaster "ATS" indicates "HOT" , and at times went to 143. I never seen this before. Anyone has input on this.
below are my scanmaster numbers just in case.
CC - 00
BL - 128
NPH - 00
CLT - 187
ATS - HOT, at times 143
TPS - .46
IAC - 140
AF - 04
L8 - 00
INT - 128
thanks

Programs like Scanmaster must use a conversion table to interpret the IAT sensor input as degrees Fahrenheit. The program "looks up" each temperature based on the sensor's input rather than using a formula. Its up to the programmer as to how many entries to put into the table, but regardless, the last entry or highest temperature is simply called "Hot". I don't know how many table entries are in the Scanmaster IAT conversion table but it appears that it goes from 149 degF to Hot. Don't worry about it. Its the same as "pegging" an analog gauge.

The SM numbers in your post indicate you just shut off the engine, or at least I hope so as several values are not right for an engine at idle (AF and L8 for sure).
