Need 700r4 info for parts counter

I need a 700r4 filter and TCC solenoid. If I tell that to the parts guy I know he'll look at me like I don't speak English. Can one of you guys give me a year, make, and model of a vehicle that would correspond to the parts I'm looking for?

Most mid 80's computer controlled Chevy's has a 700r4. 87 Vette, Camaro, 1500 truck. I would guess any 700 would have the same TCC solenoid from the early 80's to 93?

Agreed, but only the chain stores to choose from around here. Would be nice to walk in and say "I need an f-body radiator, s-10 wheel cylinders, a biggie oil filter, and a 700r4 solenoid..." and get the right stuff .

I fight it all the time. I go in with part numbers, and the kid at the counter still wants to know what make an model.
