Mysterious underhood black box

There is a black box 4"x3" that has a molded plastic AC emblem on it. It is located under the dash to the left of the steering column in its own bracket.

It has a bunch of wires going to it. I disconnected the connector and the car still started up. Security light on the dash was blinking like usual too. What the hell is it? Is it the VSS?

There was also a sticker on the box with the #25074740 and when i opened the box there is a number on the IC board #25074637c.

What is this?

Sounds like the cruise control module to me.

What color and how many wires?

Did it have a small speaker hole?? Could be the chime/tone module.

There is no speaker there, as i have opened up the box and there is a big electronic board. Could be the cruise module, i never new one existed for our cars.

I will have to look at the wire again tommowrow maybe. There is more than 4 if i recall right.
