I mentioned a while back that I had a new motor and trans ready to go into my WE4 this summer that would put my car in the low 10s. Just as the final parts had been gathered I get a call from Nick Micale with an offer to buy his TA motor that I could not refuse. So, I sell my motor and buy Nick's. Then it dawns on me that this was more motor than I needed for my street/strip car. After thinking long and hard I decide that I do not want to turn my car into a race car. This is where everything spirals out of control and my wife says WTF....You need ANOTHER car???? As luck would have it, a local member had a race car with no engine or trans that he had lost interest in. It had been torn apart getting ready for paint, and the interior was in boxes, but it was complete minus the radiator and a FAST system. Below are pictures of what it looked like the day I brought it home. Since these pics were taken I have installed drilled front rotors with 3" wheel studs, pulled the axles and installed 3" studs, installed new drag shocks, finished installing the HR bar and installed an AC block off plate. This weekend I will swap some parts off of the WE4 (headers, injectors, upper plenum, throttle body and intercooler) in preparation of installing the engine and trans in the new car. I'll update photos as the project comes along. I hope to have it ready for the WCN in November.
