Sorry to hear about your loss, but encouraged you felt compelled to adopt another animal. We had to put down our 15 year old husky mix, who was also very much a part of our family. First and only time I have seen my husband cry. Completely grief stricken I went to the local animal shelter and would have loved to have given them all homes. Instead I found a rather rambunctious stray, we bounded immediately. It took Hubby a little longer to warm up to her but now she is very much a part of our family, as is our other dog, who we resuced. I think it's great to share love with animals and hope Sam is doing well. Take care.
