motion grand national

never heard of one until now. Any baldwin/motion experts out there????

The seller claims that the car is a real "Motion" car, but has no documentation at all. The car has been on Ebay no less than 4 other times and met the reserve 3 of the 4 and no one has ever followed through. I have not been able to find any documentation anywhere that Joel Rosen (Motion Performance) ever built anything like it and it has been thoroughly discussed on the Yenko board. If there were a way to document the car, it would be worth considering. I have a feeling that the car is very rough up close since 3 bidders won the car and no one has ever followed through and bought it. Surely at least one has seen the car in person. Also, I can't believe anyone would make a claim like that if they could not substantiate it with some tangible proof. I think he is just saying that to try to get someone to pay more. Just my $.02.

P.S. All I know for sure is that I gotta get me a Big Daddy turbo for one of my cars. I hear that just by putting one of those on you go from 14's to 9's with no other mods! LOL!!!

I believe the range was from $6700(lowest) to about $8900(highest).

it must be a toilet up close. i have an old early 90's magazine where Guldstrand built a gn so it wouldnt surprise me if a Motion one is out there.

Frank,

here are all 4 of the auctions and matching threads. several people spoke of being near the car and going to look at it. I wonder if anyone evey did? I have a very hard time believing that the seller has had 3 deadbeat bidders when they have good positive feedback.

What are your thoughts?

Hmmm, let's see. The back seat is dirty, the front seat is worn through/ripped. He says it has some wear. It needs a carpet, the steering wheel is wrong. He says there is a small scratch on the driver's door. It's more than just a small scratch, but you can't see it in the pictures on his auction, you have to click on the link to see more. Column is scratched up the doors are missing 3 of the 4 strap caps, the driver's upper panel looks to have been replaced recently, and they didn't tuck the material in correctly. He is still showing the engine without an oil cap. Probably still hasn't put one on. Glove box door is rusty. Hacked speaker install in doors.......... Just to name a few things that are wrong and visible. I can imagine what people see when they go to look at it. Not to mention what they can't see.

Brian

EDIT: Whoops, didn't realize, someone pointed out almost the same things that I did in a previous post about it.

Ill bet one of two things happened before to the winners. They came to look at it and said was a piece of crap and refused to buy it.. OR they are deadbeat bidders..( I find that hard to believe)

Frank,

I'd be willing to bet the first rather than the last.

well if someone is that interested i will go to look at the car if they set it up with the person doing the auction.

I think he knows that guy and uses that lot to park his cars and take decent pics... I'm trying to get more info...

Has anybody contacted Motion or any experts on the cars they sold. When I was 17-18 I stopped to talk to a guy that had a Yenko Turbo Z. He said it was for sale, but I couldn't afford it. Most people did not believe the made one. But they made 19 of them.

I saw the guy whos selling it the other day while I was on a fire call but I barely had much time to ask him about it, he said he has had 3 deadbeats on the car. he said hes had a few others jerk him around on it, and not many have even looked at it in person. I didnt even have time to get more info from him, but I'll keep trying.
