Manual Brakes--which Master Cyl?

power master will not fit with big block headers. we have no power steering. budget won't permit super manuel brake sys. what size master cylinder will stop the car with existing brake system. do we NEED to change proportioning valve or will stronger leg be sufficient? this will be a 9.0 car.
 
The S-10 pick-up MC works and fits great!

Do a search in the "Brakes.." section and you will find lots of good info on details how-to.:)
 
If you want to go for good looks i personally think that the wilwood aluminum tandum MC is the best by far, but as Nick mentioned before, any 83-85 s-10 with manual brakes will work as well. They even bolt onto the factory braket with a little massaging.
 
If your car has a cast iron proportioning valve, CHANGE IT!!! I did the vacuum brake conversion and was thoroughly disappointed. I read about problems with the cast iron prop. valves, so I found a brass Delco one, and no more brake issues, and I can hold 10 lbs of boost easily.
