Has anyone ever tried this? How difficult is to set up the computer system? Want to make sure I won't be in over my head before I commit.

I use and LT1 in my 85. You need a MAF translator and convert to the 86/87 ECM and chip. This is the way to go. Brad

are we talking about a complete LT1 engine swap, or just the MAF?
i think that if the money tree starts bearing fruit, i just might be putting an LT1 engine in my 84 T Type. much cheaper and easier than finding and building a proper Buick V6 for it, and i can do it without hacking anything up so it can be returned to turbocharged Buick power down the road..

Proper parts for the hotairs are all over the place. Port the heads and intake, get the good downpipe for it, put in a mild cam, alky kit, with appropriate chip, 160 t-stat, aftermarket rad with electric fans, and you'll be just fine. Keep the numbers matching
