Looking for a back up for my GN trans..... This any good?

Hi there, I searched and I have seen mixed reviews. I have a 1984 regal unlimited with a 305 that I'm parting out right now. The rpo codes on the trunk sticker are lg4 followed by mw9.

Mw9 is THM200-4R.

I already have a built brf trans.

I was thinking of sending the THM200-4R to a good trans builder and making it my back-up ? I don't know a whole lot about trans diffrences.... Is it close enough to my brf trans to be a suitable start point for a shop?

It's a starting point. What code in the tail tag(og I'm guessing)
Will need upgrades.

or just buy one outright and send that in as a core. javing a brf code vb only matters if u want to keep a brf vb. i think you wpuldnteven need to send ot in as a core. purchased my stage 2 with out sending mine in
