My car has 2 cylinders with lower compression readings ,so I'm going to buy a leak down tester , are there any tricks when using one ?
Thanks Sam

turbo lou had a cool little trick where he unplugged the computer to keep the car from firing up, then used a hose with a whistle on it, plugged it into the open spark plug hole, and used the whistle to find tdc while cranking the car with the key. You'd have to ask him exactly his process, but it was a quick way to get tdc without hand cranking the engine. Pretty clever I thought....

Cool idea , I could try that. Anybody got a whistle :D. Never mind I'll take one out my dogs squeeky toy.

You need to remove the spark plugs and the rocker shafts.

If the piston in the cylinder you are testing does move, use vise-grips on the flexplate to keep it at the top during the test.

The values of the test should be above 90% for each cylinder if the engine is in good shape. ;)

Thanks Nick , thats the info I needed . I'll get on it monday after work. Thanks again
