P3040892.JPG No oil pressure? Here's why......:)
1st time with new forum so I am still learning this.
Engine all orginal inside. Most of the debris was from cam bearings and timing chain.

No copper on the mains and rods.

Scoring in the oil pump cover.

No flat lobes, normal groove in #1 cam bearing.

Oil leaks everywhere....

Orginal valve springs.

New build will be a roller cam and reuse as much possible from the orginal bottom end after clean up/inspection from machine shop.

can't upload any more pics they are too large,I will figure out how to resize and post them later.

I have no idea why the 1st pic wasn't too large. All pics came from the same camera.

Also about the engine...very dirty inside varnish throughout.

So much for it being a rebuilt motor and having head work done to it! This goes to show that you always take a gamble when you buy something and take someones word for it. Oh well, i am just glad that it was all original at this point. I am also privileged to have you doing the work on my motor. At least i know that its in good hands now and that it will be done right. Im anxious for more pics.

I am also still curious about the turbo. Since all the info on the motor i got from the seller turned out to be false, the transmission is now circling my thoughts.

We know you have a good convertor, may also be wise to freshen the trans while it is out.

I need to find a program to resize the pics,I had one on the old puter.

Parts are going into the shop Wed afternoon thanks to my wife. Her car is loaded up.

Turbo is dirty but he shaft is tight thrustwise and normal side to side play. It maybe ok?

Looks like I am figuring it out. I have more that's all for tonite,I will post more tomorrow time for bed!

Looks good Steve. You've made a lot of progress. How were the clearances on the rods? Did you have to use the .001 bearings?

Last batch. We have a few pics of the heads and roller lifters. The completed valvetrain. TA performance hardened shafts and a shot of the valve seals and stem to guide clearence. I did not start on this till Sat about 3PM and worked today till 7ish. Next weekend I will blueprint the oil pump, install the pan , valve covers and intake manifold. Bolt up all thebrackets and exhaust, prime it on the satnd and drop her in the hole. :)
