Don't know if any of you guys have read that blues great, Johnny Winters has died the other day at 70 years old. I was pretty surprised to read about it.
He was one terrific guitar player, let me tell you. He wielded that Gibson Firebird V like a it was an extension of himself. I really loved his style.....he talked the blues through that Gibson so well. One of the reasons I switched to blues on my guitar.......I love the long, reaching solos. I do the same now, thanks to Johnny.
Another great musician gone from us......I thought he'd be around forever....of course, I thought the same of Duane Allman and Danny Gatton, too. Sad world. Such talent. Gone way too soon. Come to think of it, 70 is not that old.
