Is this alternator whine?

My car just started doing this. You can hear it in the car and is very annoying.

Does it sound like its coming directly from the alternator? I mean, it just got a little louder when you gave it some gas instead of going up in pitch and down like a vacume leak would do. Do you any mechanics that could give it a listen in person?

Either way, what ever it is, that would get annoying.

It's difficult to tell from that vid. Have you taken the belt off to see if it goes away? You could even take it over to AZ and have them test it so to see if you hear the same noise.

I think it is. You can try the heater hose to the ear test and try to pin point it. Or you could remove the belt and see if it stops.

Kinda sounds like the bearings went bad in the alternator.

Yea I did not think about taking the belt off, I will try that and let you know. It is deffanently coming from or around the alternator. Yea it is very annoying!

x2 on the alternator bearing...sounds just like mine did when the bearing crapped out.
