Intermediate Steering Shaft Seal

Earlier there was talk of the heat shields on the driver side exhaust manifold. That led into talk of the rubber boot/seal over the intermediate steering shaft. Does anyone have a part number for that boot?

The intermediate shaft is illustrated as part 16 on page 6-56 in the 44W (9/89) parts manual. Unfortunately, it doesn't break it down to the seal.

The seal was never serviced separately. From GM you have to buy the entire shaft to get a new seal. Mikes Monte's has a replacement seal. Its not identical, but a functional replacement.

WHERE can i get a complete new or used shaft????

New shafts are discontinued. Your best bet is to find a used one in the boneyard. Same one used on all 80-88 G-body. Plenty of good ones out there as the NA cars didn't suffer from the same heat problems as the turbo cars did.
