Will the stock LS1 intake and valley pan work on the 4.8 / 5.3 truck motor or do the heads not work with the intake. I just prefer the look of the stock intake versus the edlebrock style intake.

Is there performance advantage with the elderbrock intake?

Ls1 intake and cover will fit. However, there are other items that need attention. 2 of them are:
1. The truck water pump neck may create issues.
2. The throttle body is blocked w/ the truck alt mount idler pulley. It has to be relocated.

The "elderbrock" works best with modified components.

Ok thanks for the input, so if Im buying a new water pump and go with the the fbody accessory then Im good to go right!?

The fbody manifold, as Chuck said, will not clear on truck accessories because of the upper water pump neck. You can buy spacers and use an fbody pump with the truck accessories (which I would recommend if you already have the truck accessories). Dirty dingo sells both spacers and the idler pulley relocator on their website. One other problem you will run into is the truck's steam tubes don't let the ls1 intake sit down on the valley like it should, so you will need ls1 steam tubes.
