Insulated intercooler shroud

Anyone ever tried to insulate the intercooler shroud to stop the heat off of the radiator? If so did it seem to help any with performance?

There have been some attempts at increasing the efficiency of the stock i/c, including a shroud around the fan and a shield between the stock shroud and the rad. w/negligable results. The fan shroud actually became a choking point at higher speeds.
