Ignition problem?

The car wont turn off when I turn the key back to the off position. I have to disconnect the msd box in order to turn the car off. Has anybody else had this, or experience this before. I changed the ignition switch in the column, not where the key goes but under the dash inside the column. Any ideas would be great, Thanks.

I don't know about the MSD, but it sounds like you've got current back-feeding from the alternator (it will do this if the diode is missing). For a quick check, start the car and turn off the key. Now with the engine still running, pull the small connector (with the brown wire) off the alternator - if it quits, there's your problem.
