ignition module meltdown

Hello everyone, i recently found a spark going through the coil pack so i went and bought a new one... when i came to put the new one on i found the ignition module to be all melted and wrecked so know i need a new one its an 84 GN i went to GM and its $800!!! i ten found out about caspers electronics and there conversion to 86-87 model for $230 i went to advanced auto out of curiosity and found that their computer is saying the module is $99 and the guy told me according to there computer thats the stock module. they also had a better one i believe it was AC delco 300+ for $175 is this the one i need? is the $99 one good? or should i go with caspers electronics?

i would buy casper's adapter harness and run an 87 coilpack/module.is $230 from casper's for everything(harness,coilpack/module)?if so that's not a bad deal since john probably uses only delco parts.
