Went to the races today on the second pass about mid track the crank dampner broke and the crank pulley did a number on the intercoller pipes. The problem is put a new pully and dampner on and the motor is now clattering. Any ideas on what might have happened and what the clattering might be. Not a good day at the races. :(

well, remove the serp belt and see if the crank moves (back & forth)

sorta sounds like you may have hurt the expensive stuff.......

Check to see if the interupter ring is hitting the front cover.I have this happen, if this is the case just grind off the front cover a little.

Sorry man, I knew it was one of those and flipped a coin. I DO remember talking with you last year though, honest. I'm slowly getting the cobwebs out for this season.

Is it a clatter or a knock? If its just a clatter it might just be the ring hitting the crank sensor or cover. Hows your oil pressure? If its anything expensive your oil pressure would probably suffer.

Motor does have a knock, oil pressure is only 20 psi cold. Not a good sign. Will have to tear it down to see what happened.
