Hydroboost Hose Problem

Is anyone having trouble with new hydroboost hoses for an 84 T being incorrect? I was helping a friend convert his 87 T to hydroboost and the 91660 hose (pump to hydroboost) had the ends crimped radially incorrect. You had to twist the hose almost 180 deg to thread on resulting in the hose being kinked and not usable. The 71187 (hydroboost to gear) had a banjo end, not the o-ring, and was too short. We went to both Autozone and O'Reilly and on the screen the picture is correct for the 71187, but what is in the bag is not. Our O'Reilly ordered 5 sets to see if all are the same. Are we just having bad luck? Both probably came from the same source.

Did you do the massage to the pump end of that hose as prescribed by the cedar crest lab page?
I posted pix in the thread I posted.

I got the hoses from rockauto.

His needed the entire pump end rotated to get it pointing at the pump before adjusting to get aligned with the pump port. I had no problem with mine a couple years ago. May check Rockauto.

Sounds like the manufacturer is having some qc issues.

Do you have a Napa or advance auto?
