the ignition timing is set by the crank position sensor behind the balancer.. the "distributor" is actually a cam sensor that tells the computer where the engine is in the 4 stroke cycle and fires the injectors accordingly.

It is a function of different parameters. No way to "set the timing" unless you burn your own chips, AND know what you are doing.

not bull, the cam sensor needs to set, this tells the ecu where the engine is in its cycle so it can calculate injector pulses it is sequential not batch fire
