Tore down engine did a mild rebuild, engine will not start, any suggestions on how-to set ignition timing?

the ignition timing is set by the crank position sensor behind the balancer.. the "distributor" is actually a cam sensor that tells the computer where the engine is in the 4 stroke cycle and fires the injectors accordingly.

As stated.
Actual timing is set by the chip.
It is a function of different parameters. No way to "set the timing" unless you burn your own chips, AND know what you are doing.

So the 25 degrees atdc is all bull and setting the cam sensor where it gets low voltage is also a waist of time?

not bull, the cam sensor needs to set, this tells the ecu where the engine is in its cycle so it can calculate injector pulses it is sequential not batch fire

That's what I thought 25 atdc then cam sensor at low voltage to make sure it's closed
