I emptied my gas tank by using the fuel pump....uncapped the fuel line at the end, took out the little valve, then attached a clear plastic tubing line to it, with a hose clamp, think it was 1/2" in diameter.
Then I put the other end in a plastic 5 gallon fuel can.....turned on the ignition, ran the black fuel pump wire to the power side of the hood light after I disconnected it, and the fuel pump pumped out the gas......I filled up two fuel cans then stopped when the see through tubing showed bubbles...thus, I didn't want the pump to burn up......the tank was then easy to drop. Cool way to empty a tank......of course, this only works with an operating pump......all other methods then apply if pump is bad.
