i was wondering how fiber glass holds up to heat. i have a hot-air gn and want to put a fiberglass hood on it but with the turbo being in the back i was wondering how will the fiber galss hold up to the heat? i remember my stock hood getting really hot and boiling the paint on it so i figured i would try the glass hood and see how it works.

CARBON FIBER HOOD

Bro,

Can't really "specifically" advise on Hot Airs, but CF (carbon fiber) is more temperature resistant than fiberglass.

I've seen a used CF TR hood for sale here on TB.com by a member in Parts For Sale, but I do not know its origin, or where they might be found now, but if you could find one you'd be better-off versus fiberglass.

I believe I also remember an improved heat shield for Hot Air hoods being offered by Mark Hueffman.
