I was told by Eric at TT to check if my converter is locking up. he said do a compression cheek on it. does anyone know how I do this

if you are cruising at a steady speed(fast enough that the converter would be locked), tap the brakes and see if the rpms rise, indicting the converter unlocked when you tapped the brakes.

Approx. how many mph are we looking at for it to lock? I'm just wondering because I'm getting horrible gas mileage.

A TT chip is programmed to lock at about 45 mph unless you request otherwise.
