Something I read on another fishing forum was to leave a baby-monitor in your pickup or boat, while parked overnight. Fisherman often vacation hundreds of miles from home, and often need to stop somewhere for the night. Thieves would often steal whatever was unsecured inside the boat overnight. Trolling motors, rods and electronics easily run into the $thousands.
The idea was to hide the baby-monitor in the boat and try to sleep lightly. If you hear anything suspicious, check it out ASAP!
