Homemade rear seat brace

I have a 87 GN T-Top and I'be been reading a lot and looking at some part websites and noticed the rear seat braces. Right now I have no mods past a new MAF tube and airfilter but I will be looking to play in a short while (just picked up the car... a little short on funding ) Anyway, I don't want my car flexing and cracking and from what I've read the braces help with handling and help prevent flexing. The look pretty basic so I was wondering if there is anyway to make them myself for less than the 70 bucks they want. Off topic but.. any suggestions for a fuel pump? (I'm looking to go low 12's down the road)

As far as the braces are concerned, you can make your own with 3/4" conduit and a few 3/8ths bolts/nuts.
They are quite strong, and make a big difference. $10 in total.

As for a fuel pump, nothing less than a Walbro 340. It will go deep into the 11's and further, and can be purchased for around the $89-99 dollar mark.

8' piece of 3/4" conduit = $2.00, 8 bolts, washers and nylon insert nuts = $4.00. Make em.
