Is it possible to have higher transmission fluid temp with the flywheel cover in place according to my gauge I am running about 10- 15 degrees higher with the cover on. The only thing other , I changed trans fluid and filter. Temp runns about 180-185 ,engine coolant 170 running two B&M tranny coolers.

I'm no tranny expert, but I can see the torque converter acting as sort of a heat sink or fan... I'd think that SOME heat would be transfered away from the torque converter (which has fluid in it) as it spins... but I'm supprised to hear your numbers are so high.

If you see such a difference, maybe consider modifying your inspection cover for more flow with a screen to keep crap out, or don't run one at all.

Though, I would think driving in the rain or dirt wouldn't be very easy on things without an inspection cover.
