Sorry to be so long but some details might help with a diagnosis. I finally got the new motor in and just installed new tranny today. All is great right? WRONG!!! After the tranny went in car wouldn't start. Dead battery! Went and got a new one. Drove the car for about 20 miles or so. Ran good. Then started to shift funny. It shifts through 2nd and 3rd before 20mph! Then the check engine light came on. Then the car died!! WTF??? Jump started it easily but when I removed the jumper cables, maybe two minutes later, the car dies. Went and got new alternator and installed it. Double checked wiring, looks good. Jump started again, car idles fine- til I take the cables off! Then it dies again! What the heck is going on? Could it be the new battery or alternator?? Seems like the battery isn't being charged at all. I'm having both tested in the morning. Can anybody think of anything else that could cause this??? Any ideas greatly appreciated!!!
