Hi there, Im having troubles with my 84 GN, i receintly finished building up the motor and trans, the car runs great for the most part but........ Its got a 2800 stall in her and when i try to do a break torque ill hold the brakes and put the pedal to the floor and the rpms will only rise to about 2-maybe 2500 rpms if im lucky! but as soon as i let go of the brakes the rpms go up and the car ripes!!!! So my question is...... does anyone know what could possibly be goin wrong if anything? the car runs well any other time with the exception of doin brake torques. So if anyone could please help me out here and steer me in the right direction that would be awsome!!! Thanks alot Kevin

ok im not entirely sure what that means.... but its normal and theres nothing i can do about it?

What are you expecting it to do? Sounds like it is doing what it is suppose to. It doesn't have enough power to run through the brakes so it revs to were it can and then when you let off the brakes it goes.

Good answer, if he was getting 4-5K RPM's at a line lock, he'd be in deep doodoo.


Texas, is that a '70 or '71 GS ya got there?

its just a street car to cruise around and every now ans then go up to the drag strip, I just wasnt sure if what was happening was right thats why im here asking! I just figured with the stall id at least be able to get my rpms up to that point......
