Headlight switch illuminated???

Is the headlight switch supposed to be illuminated (and the dash light dimmer switch)? If they are, can I disassemble the switch and clean the internals to get it working again or do I need a new one?

No, they are not illuminated. I think the only switch that is illuminated, is the rear window defroster, if your car is so equipped. Go figure.

Thanks. That is what I assumed since I just disassembled the switch and did not see a bulb. That sure doesn't make a lot of sense for them to be non-illuminated.

why would it make sense for them to be illuminated? the light wouldn't come on until you found the switch to turn the headlights on..

Ha Ha, you are correct. But, if I get in the car at night and close the door (no lights on anywhere) the switch isn't noticeable. I guess it should illuminate if the key is turned on or the engine is running. That would make more sense.
