Head gasket question ?

What is the correct depth of the groove, Fel Pro 1007 gaskets?
Here,the forum has had two kinds of information when I read the older topics.
0.008 and 0.012 depth of grooves, which one is correct or better?
Or should believe only the manufacturer's instructions?

Back in the 90's when I was using these Gaskets I mad massive leaks due to the wrong info that Fel- Pro gave. I would atleast groove .012 and to be saver 0.015". Any less you will never seal the entire Head Gasket to the Block / Head. Many did not have success with these Gaskets.

Personally if I was going to use a Fel-Pro gasket it would be the 1000, no cutting needed...If you really want it sealed up tight Cometic or SCE Copper.

Car had fel pro 1007 gasget with 0.008 groove, but it didint seal well.
