Wondering if anyone has powder coated a front cover or tensioner?

I don’t see any issues with the front cover if the seals, gaskets are removed.

Never had a tensioner apart to see what’s in it other than the spring. I have the pulley off already bearing removed.

Any opinions if it’s a good idea to coat these or not please let me know getting ready to have a bunch of stuff done.

Thanks

Ed just remeber 400 degrees for 30 minutes. I do believe there are plastic pieces inside that tensioner. It is GM afterall. Front cover no problem. Just get some Eastwood paint to clean up that tensioner it will look new after your done with it.

I bought a powder coated tensioner from a member. Have not put it on yet, but appears that it'll work. (I hope) I'll let everyone know once I put it on!

It is in the pulley which should be removed when doing the coating.

The bearing is easily taken out of the pulley if that is to be coated also.

Yup bearing is out already, replacing it while I am at it as well.

Just make sure to tell your coater where the bearing goes and to plug or heat tape it off....
