this is the second year in a row I've done the spring oil change and the oil is a gray/green color. Looks like nasty split pea soup.

No coolant loss, no 'more' oil in the pan than expected.

I run ZDDP additive and 111 Octane. Is it the lead in the gas turning the oil that color?

Yes, leaded gasoline will contaminate oil very quickly. Even minimal boost contributes to oil needing more frequent changes.

Local GN's running leaded fuel change about every 20-25 passes.

So how many full throttle blasts on the street since the last oil change?

Almost every one! :)

I only put about 1500 miles on the car last year and I thought one oil change a year was enough. I'll start doing them more often.

The viscosity looked ok...just ugly color.

thanks for the confirmation.
